Georges St. Pierre reclaims the UFC world title!
Never, at any point in history, had a crowd (of ANY size) booed as loud as the crowd in Montreal did when Matt Serra pushed through the crowd to the octagon to defend his title against the sensational Georges St. Pierre. It was so bad that numerous bodyguards had to escort Serra to the ring to prevent him from being knocked out before the fight could start. Once the fight was over - while addressing the crowds - St. Pierre had to ask them not to kill him.
And the fight was pretty much all Georges St. Pierre. Six seconds into the fight he dropped Serra flat on his back. And Serra was supposedly some ground-game master. Tell that to St. Pierre. The whole fight took place on the ground with GSP in charge.
That’s right. Stating that Serra was a “gentleman” and a “good sport” Georges St. Pierre did Matt Serra a favor and ask his fans not to kill him. Of course, all the comments about Serra being a gentleman and a good sport were false and simply intended to console Serra.
By the way, Serra was given two hideously black eyes in front of a crowd of 21,000 GSP fans. Oh wait. There were two dudes up in the stands waving a NY flag for Serra. St. Pierre should have ask his fans not to kill them either. I’ll have to check the headlines when I wake up.
